Christian Lavers
Christian Lavers is a Partner with Libero Sports, specializing in contract negotiation, legal issues and player scouting.
Lavers also serves as US Club Soccer's Executive Vice President where he oversees US Club Soccer’s club and player development programs and league initiatives, development of the organization’s marketing and commercial strategies, as well as securing strategic partnerships and sponsorships. In addition to his work with US Club Soccer, Lavers is one of the founding members and President of the Elite Clubs National League (ECNL).
Lavers holds all of the highest coaching licenses in the United States - the USSF "A" License, the USSF "Y" License, and the NSCAA Premier Diploma, and has led teams to National Final Fours at 4 different levels - the USYS National Championships, the USASA National Championships, the W-League Final Four, and the WPSL Final Four. Lavers has coached men’s and women’s teams with FC Milwaukee Nationals since 2005, holding the position of Director of the Development Academy Program since the creation of the U.S. Soccer Development Academy in 2006. Lavers was a former member of both the Region II men’s and women’s USYS Olympic Development Program staff, and writes extensively, with numerous articles published by Soccer Coaching International, the NSCAA Soccer Journal, and other publications.
Away from soccer, Lavers was a corporate attorney with Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek S.C., specializing in corporate law, commercial transactions and intellectual property from 2004-2010. Lavers has negotiated contracts and joint ventures for Fortune 100 and smaller companies, and a variety of employment and other services contracts in the athletic arena.
Lavers received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he played collegiate soccer, in 1998 with a focus in finance and marketing. He also received a pair of graduate degrees from the University of Wisconsin concurrently in 2004, a law degree (cum laude) and a Masters of Business Administration with an emphasis in marketing.
