Sallieu Bundu
Sallieu Bundu is a free agent after completing two seasons with the Carolina RailHawks.
Bundu missed a significant amount of time in 2010 due to a broken jaw, yet still managed to score five goals in nine appearances. In all competitions in 2009, he scored 16 points on seven goals and two assists in 1,496 minutes. His seven goals were tied for the team lead. He started the season off scoring the RailHawks’ lone goal in a 2-1 loss to the Honduran club CD Olimpia. In the second match of the regular-season, Bundu scored the game-winning goal on a 53rd-minute volley against Rochester on April 18. He scored another game winner on July 11 at Charleston. On Aug. 26, he scored two goals and had one assist in 26 minutes against Miami, making him the 11th RailHawk to record a multi-goal game.
Prior to joining the RailHawks, Bundu played one season under Martin Rennie with the Cleveland City Stars. Bundu wowed Rennie and his coaching staff in a tryout and Bundu was offered a contract on the spot. Bundu flourished for the City Stars, scoring eight goals to go along with one assist for a team-leading 17 points. He also scored the game-winning goal in Cleveland’s 2-1 win over Charlotte in the 2008 USL-2 championship game
